On the way home from Penticton last night there was a funny burning smell coming from my car. I initially thought it was a grocery bag that was getting heated up by heater. When I got home I was unloading the car and noticed my front seat was scorching hot and the heater wasn’t on. Good thing I didn’t have a passenger. I shut the garage, not giving it much more thought until this morning. I load up to go back to Penticton and my car is dead as a doornail (whatever that means). Nothin! Grrrr! Are you kidding me??? I have to leave for work like 10 minutes ago. I call AMA and buddy comes out to boost my car. Sparks start flying, tow guy jumps back and asks me if he should try again???? Really? You’re the expert dude! I say. Anyway, the car starts and I call the vw mechanic. He advises I bring it in and has a loaner for me to borrow. Off to work I go… 2 hours late. Turns out the switch for the passenger heater shorted out and was cooking my seat even when the car was off, thus killing my battery! Excellent. Well I made it home and got my run in during a flash dumping snow storm. Felt okay. Nothing stellar.
